Cryogenic treatment services now available!

As a Yamaha Shokunin Select dealer, PM Music Center has access to Yamaha's Cryogenic Processing facilities, located at their ateliers in New York City and Los Angeles. Cryogenic processing can help relieve residual stress stored in the metal of your musical instrument. All the hammering, heating, bending, and soldering required to make your instrument creates residual stress to the molecular structure of the metal and impedes your instrument's ability to resonate to its full potential. Cryogenic treatment greatly reduces this residual stress and improves resonance, decreases resistance, and increases endurance.

Repad includes: disassembly of instrument; pad removal; replacing necessary corks; worn springs; etc. Installing the highest quality tan leather pads on sax (double skin bladder on all other woodwinds); swedge keys as necessary; minor dent work; instrument assembly; lubrication; cleaning; final adjustments; and testing. 

Overhaul includes ALL REPAD WORK PLUS:

• Flute -- polishing and buffing keys; buffing body; all dent work
• Clarinet -- polishing keys; restore gold leaf; oil bore on wood
• Saxophone -- polishing keys; all dent work; clean body

Flute/Piccolo Cleaning & Polishing

• Full Service = $145 and includes 1) complete disassembly, 2) chemically clean body, 3) hand clean keys with mild solvent 4) hand polish body and keys, 5) re-seat pads as necessary, 6) re-glue, clean and deodorize case as possible, 7) play test
• Economy Service = $60 1) hand clean keys with mild solvent 2) hand polish body and keys, 3) re-seat pads as necessary, 4) re-glue, clean and deodorize case as possible, 5) play test

Clarinet Cleaning & Polishing

• Full Service = $145 and includes 1) complete disassembly, 2) chemically clean plastic body or hand clean wooden body, 3) hand clean keys with mild solvent 4) hand polish silver-plate keys, 5) re-seat pads as necessary, 6) re-glue, clean and deodorize case as possible, 7) play test
• Economy Service = $60 and includes 1) hand clean plastic or wooden body, 2) hand clean keys with mild solvent 3) hand polish silver-plate keys, 4) re-seat pads as necessary, 5) re-glue, clean and deodorize case as possible, 6) play test
• Alto & Bass Clarinets = Double the prices listed above and include same procedures

Oboe Cleaning & Polishing

• Full Service = $165 and includes 1) complete disassembly, 2) chemically clean plastic body or hand clean wooden body, 3) hand clean keys with mild solvent 4) hand polish silver-plate keys, 5) re-seat pads as necessary, 6) re-glue, clean and deodorize case as possible, 7) play test
• Economy Service = $85 and includes 1) hand clean plastic or wooden body, 2) hand clean keys with mild solvent 3) hand polish silver-plate keys, 4) re-seat pads as necessary, 5) re-glue, clean and deodorize case as possible, 6) play test

Alto Saxophone Cleaning & Polishing

• Full Service = $235 and includes 1) complete disassembly, 2) chemically clean body, 3) hand clean keys with mild solvent 4) re-seat pads as necessary, 5) reglue, clean and deodorize case as possible, 6) play test
• Economy Service = $115 and includes 1) hand clean keys with mild solvent 2) re-seat pads as necessary, 3) re-glue, clean and deodorize case as possible, 4) play test
• Tenor and Baritone Saxophones By Estimate Only

Clarinet/Oboe Body Cracks -- Estimate only per crack bonded with cyanoacrylate adhesive and finished with grenadilla chips

Tenon Replacement - By Estimate

All woodwind repairs will incur an $8.00 shop fee.  This fee covers all miscellaneous shop supplies/materials/utilities used (glue, oil, fuel, chemicals, cleaning agents, etc.)  

*Prices based on instruments in average condition. Replacement parts, silver/gold plated finishes, extensive dent work, key work, or solder work will incur additional costs on as estimate basis. 

**Premium pads/resonators available upon request for additional fee

***We do use Organic Sweet Almond Oil on our wood instrument cleanings, but allergen-free oil is available upon request
