What were some of your earliest music memories or inspirations?
My dad, PM Music President Lew Shender, is a big music fan! My earliest music memories are from when he first rescued me back in 2020. We’d drive around listening to his favorites…from ska to funk (he loves funk!) to classic rock ‘n roll to jazz singers.
What is your instrument of choice?
I love jamming out on the keyboards. Paws aren’t the easiest when it comes to playing the piano, but with help from the incredible private lessons instructors at PM, I’m pretty sure I’m on my way to becoming as paw-some as Billy Preston, the “fifth Beatle”..
Favorite coffee order?
A puppuccino from our neighborhood breakfast spot, Honey Berry Pancakes and Cafe.
What is a typical day at PM Music Center like for the Canine Coordinator?
Being the Canine Coordinator is not an easy job! It’s important to keep spirits high and tails wagging. I start every day by checking out all the great things PM Music has to offer on the sales floor and greeting all my work colleagues as they arrive. (Spoiler alert: the ones who give me treats get the biggest greetings!)
After our daily all-hands (and paws!) morning meeting, I like to check-in with our paws-itively amazing repair technicians, who are always hard at work. (Pro tip: they always give great head scratchies!)
Then, after answering some emails, I head back onto the floor and help the sales team find some great new instruments for some aspiring musicians. Lunch is my favorite time, especially when I get extra treats. The day gets even better when all the students start to fill the lesson rooms, and the halls of PM are howling with tons of great music all afternoon long.
Favorite place for live music in the Chicago area?
During the summers, my dad takes me to the MCA’s Tuesdays on the Terrace summer concert series in the park. There’s great live music and tons of other pup friends to paw-ty with.
And I absolutely love Naperville Park District’s Concerts in Your Park Sunday evening summer concert series! Every concert is free and held at a different neighborhood park from 7:00-8:30 pm. I always stop by the PM Music Center booth to say Woof, see my friends from the store, get my face painted, and grab some PM swag!
Favorite hobbies?
Fetch, running along the lakeshore, shopping for vinyl records, and visiting the farmers market.
